Strawberry Festival in Owego

Chuck and the three oldest kids were at the Strawberry Festival in Owego, NY today.  The kids' youth group is planning some big events for the community over the next year, and they had a booth to bring awareness of their plans to the town.  Our son, Elijah, was drawn to a local juggler, Will Stafford, who allowed him to do some juggling.  He had so much fun!  Here is a video our son's friend took of Elijah juggling fire torches:

I know it's hard to see in the video, but there's fire on the end of those torches!  He also got to juggle swords!  He had a great time and is looking forward to practicing more with his new juggling friend.  Next on our list to buy:  a unicycle, fire torches, and swords.  Fun, Fun!!

Where Have We Been?

The last year and a half have been very busy for us in many ways.  We cared for my grandfather until he passed last June and continue to care for my grandmother who has Alzheimers.  We then found out we were expecting our fifth child!  Our son, John, was born on March 15, 2013.  Chuck just graduated in May of this year from Davis College.  Cassie has been going to college locally at Davis College and is now preparing to go away to college in September, which will mean I will have one less painter while she is away.

Throughout this time, we still participated in the Hope Tent, Wendy's Walk for Kids, and the Andrew's Good News Christmas party last year.  We also continued to do birthday parties and some fairs.  I have had many people ask me if we are still doing balloons and painting as they haven't heard much.  I admit I have not kept up on this blog as I have had to pick and choose what I do and have simply allowed certain things to go.  I have also not kept up on advertising our services as we have been so busy with all these other activities.

I can assure you all, we are still doing parties, though we have stepped back from doing week-long fairs.  We simply are not able at this time to give up whole weeks, one after the other, to perform at the fairs.  However, on the flip side, that means we are available to do more parties this summer.  We used to get calls for birthday parties that were planned for July or August that we had to turn down because we were away.  Now we can do them.

Having said all of that, I can tell you that we will be at the Wendy's Walk for Kids and the Andrew's Good News Christmas Party this year.  Unfortunately, the Hope Tent at the Spiedie Fest has been canceled for this year, so we won't be at the Spiedie Fest at all.  We are currently getting busy doing birthday parties, picnics, and family reunions.  If you have a party you are thinking about hiring us for, please contact us ASAP to schedule your date!

Busy Summer!

We have had a very busy summer this year.  I did a lot of painting at local fairs and the Spiedie Fest.  Here are a few pictures of things I have done this summer, including a pregnant belly painting I just did yesterday (look on belly painting page for close-up pic)!  Make sure to look for more pictures in my gallery.

Also, I have added glitter tattoos to the services I am offering!  Check out this new body art form on my Glitter Tattoos page.

Andrew's Good News Christmas Party

We spent last night doing balloons and face painting at the Andrew's Good News Christmas Party at Davis College.  It went very well.  I wish I had pictures of some of the stuff we did, but like the fall carnival, things just moved too quickly, leaving no time to take pictures.  I will have to try to re-create some of the great winter/Christmas faces we did on some lovely models and take pictures, so I can update this website.

We have done several things since the last time I posted.  In October we did balloons and painting at a benefit for a friend's fiance who has cancer.  We also did a Halloween party for the Binghamton Country Club.

Next Sunday we will be working at a Christmas party at the Elk's Club.

I will post new pictures soon, since our designs are always changing.  Have a blessed Holiday Season!

Hope Tent at Spiedie Fest 2010

One of the recent events that our family participated in is the Hope Tent at the Spiedie Fest in Binghamton, NY.  The Spiedie Fest is a huge festival held every year at Otsiningo Park.  The Hope Tent is the largest tent at the Spiedie Fest.  It is organized by Andrew's Good News Ministries and sponsored by many different churches and ministries in the local area.  They offer free entertainment and activities to children and adults.  They also have a free baby changing station, free counseling, free coffee and cookies, and other things.  This year was the first year that the Hope Tent had a connected tent that was just for kids.  There were free games, activities, entertainment, face painting, and balloon twisting.  Our family did face painting, balloon twisting, and special music in the kids tent. We had so much fun!

We are still waiting to receive some pictures of the balloon twisting from our photographer.

We really enjoy working with Andrew's Good News Ministries

Alex's Benefit

This past Saturday was so busy for us.  We started the day doing balloon twisting and face painting at the Kingdom Fest, a Christian festival held at Abide in the Vine.

We then did balloon twisting at a birthday party, and, finally, we went to a benefit for Alex Pinto, a child with Diskeratosis Congenita, a genetically inherited disease.

Diskeratosis Congenita causes many different symptoms, and, for most people with the disease, progressive bone marrow failure.  Alex is constantly traveling to hospitals for various treatments that cost his family a lot of money, so a benefit was held to try to help his parents with some of the increasing costs of his medical care.  Please click on the links above to learn more about this debilitating disease, and consider donating to this worthy cause!

We had such a great time reaching out to the community.  It feels so good to help people out!
